Rubber-Cal’s General Purpose Rubber is your go-to elastomer sheeting for almost any application. This black rubber sheeting is made from Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) for outstanding protective capabilities, including resistances to shock, impact, and abrasion. The 0.25” thick sheet rubber acts as a protective barrier, absorbing harmful movements and distributing them across its surface so they cannot cause damage to any sensitive sub-surfaces. Since this 1/4 inch rubber sheet is extra-thick, it is perfect for high-stress applications that require reliable and long-lasting protection. SBR is waterproof. The SBR industrial rubber also features a non-slip surface and a working temperature range from -10° to 190°F, making it ideal for physically demanding applications in extreme conditions. Unlike most other materials, rubber naturally possesses a high coefficient of friction. This means the material resists movement, allowing this rubber grip sheet to enhance traction and prevent slips, even under moist conditions. This durable and solid elastomer has a durometer of 60 Shore A, which is a mid-range hardness rating. Elastomer products with a 60A durometer provide a sturdy surface that resists indentation, but still demonstrate a moderate range of flexibility. Though this general rubber comes in large sheets, it can also be cut down for use as seals, gaskets, or rubber lining.
