Our Lutyens Benches were inspired by the original Thakeham seat, designed at the turn of the last century by British architectural icon, Edwin Lutyens, for the garden at Little Thakeham, West Sussex, England. This perennial bench design has never faded and we now consider it a garden classic. We offer the 4 foot bench, in three finish options, White, Black and Natural Oil. We also offer a 5 foot bench in Natural Oil finish. All of our Achla Designs casual patio and garden furniture is made from Eucalyptus grandis wood that is sustainably harvested. It is finished with a natural oil finish or painted with a glossy UV-resistant polyurethane-based paint. • INDOOR & OUTDOOR SEATING: The Lutyens Bench is an ideal wooden bench to create a resting point along a garden path, or on the patio. In Natural oil finish the bench comes in two lengths, to take in a view from the porch or enjoy a cup of tea in the garden. The attractive gloss finish in Black or White lets this bench blend well with indoor décor as well, for casual seating, or an occasional bench in a plantroom, mudroom or hall.

• EUCALYPTUS WOOD: Made of Eucalyptus grandis wood that is sustainably harvested and finished with a natural oil finish. Maintaining the finish with periodic reapplication of oil will preserve the deep reddish wood color, and ensure longevity. Left to the elements, the wood will naturally age to silvery grey, as will teak, cedar or acacia. We recommend protecting furniture indoors or with a cover during extreme weather months.
